CAT Stanley Makes AVMA’s 2012 Convention Purrfectly Pawsome

CAT Stanley here. I’m on my way home from the American Veterinary Medical Association‘s annual convention in San Diego. And holy cat, did I have a time!

Of course, what’s a convention within the presence of the coolest cat in the world…that’s me in case anyone needs clarification. But even I have to admit the jaquar and some of the other pets and animals that were at the convention were a close second. Very close!

It was such a wonderful convention! All the convention goers were fantastic. Many of you stopped by to say hi to me and my staff at our booth in the exhibit hall. It was great to catch up with old friends and to meet all the new ones.

Naturally, I didn’t attend any of the education sessions. I am, after all, a cat. I stayed at the booth and schmoozed with all our visitors instead. But I heard from lots of different folks that the education sessions were really good.

At the booth, it was really gratifying to see how many veterinarians have already committed to make their practices more cat-friendly. Many of the veterinarians and veterinary team members that we spoke to have already started to implement changes in their practices and some have even completed the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) Cat-Friendly Practice Program. It’s great to see how many members of the veterinary community are committed to improving life for cats and raising our status in the eyes of the rest of the world. The veterinary profession is truly a dedicated one and I send purrs and headbutts to all of you who are working so hard to help cats.

For those of you who haven’t already done so, please check out our cat-friendly practice videos or take a look at the American Association of Feline Practitioner’s Cat-Friendly Practice Program.

Partners for Healthy Pets is a pretty pawsome group with an extremely important mission also. That mission is to ensure that pets receive the preventive healthcare they deserve. CATalyst Council is proud to be an associate member of this group.
